My favorite piece of furniture is Cappellini’s Lotus conference chair for Haworth. The sleek lines and comfortable sit make it an ideal and impressive meeting chair.
MY PATH IS MY OWN.
While in school, I knew early on that I wanted to pursue the corporate side of design as opposed to residential. Figuring out how rooms and furniture can be organized within space is a puzzle I enjoy solving. For two years following graduation, I worked for an architecture firm designing schools and churches (mainly drafting by hand).
In 1997 I joined Kayhan as part of a Tenant Development team. I enjoyed creating spaces for our clients from the ground up. I loved being a part of taking a space and making it meet and exceed client expectations. In addition to tenant development, I was thrown into the world of systems furniture, something that they could not have prepared me for at school. CAD was a must and I quickly learned AutoCAD along with the other programs required for ordering furniture.
With architecture and construction in my background it was a natural fit for me to move into specifying demountable partitions when Haworth joined forces with SMED. After specifying furniture for 20 years I decided that it was time for something new and moved into project management.
I’m enjoying being on-site overseeing the entire project and working with all those involved in creating and completing the space.
PROUD TO CARRY THE KAYHAN FLAG.
The culture created by our founder, Kayhan Hellriegel, is the reason for the long tenure of myself and many others at Kayhan. She had the knack of hiring the right people to work together and foster growth. She is greatly missed but the foundation she laid lives on.
